Grounds Maintenance Equipment, Inc. is pleased to introduce the new Model T-Rex series of nine-inch capacity tree and brush chippers. These units are a completely new design, incorporating many significant improvements in manufacturability, durability and maintainability of these chippers when compared to those aspects of other chippers. These chippers provide maximum ease of operation, while restraining the costs of producing and operating the machine. And as the name implies they'll eat just about anything. This new generation of chippers features two powered 12-inch diameter upper and lower feed rolls to easily feed a full nine-inch diameter tree trunk. The chipper housing with it's nine inch high by twelve inch wide feed opeining is manufactured of 3/8 inch thick steel, and is split across the horizontal center line. A hydraulic cylinder opens the top half of the housing, providing unparalled maintenance access to the flywheel knife area. The entire feed hopper is hinged at the right side, allowing it to swing completely out of the way for bed and flywheel knife maintenance. Total access, without any tools. The chippers are powered by Deutz turbocharged, oil-cooled diesel engines. No radiator or coolant is required. The T-Rex 3 uses the tree-cylinder 57 HP engine, the T-Rex 4 the four cylinder 75 HP engine. These engines are in complete compliance with all current EPA and other exhaust emissions regulations. The turbocharged engines retain their power and performance levels at very high altitudes, and do not require a spark arrester on exhausts. The engines may be operated at up to 30 degrees from level in any direction.
