The Model 3-PT 15 3-Point Ditcher is Designed to Provide an Economical Way to Make Surface Drainage Ditches Using your own Farm Tractor. Like all Hurricane 3-Point Models, the 3-PT 15 is Equipped with Parking Stands for Easy Hook-Up and Disconnection. It can be Used with Cat II or III Quick Hitch by Moving the Bushings to the Desired Location.
The 3-PT 15 has a 15" 5-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) with Hard-Surfaced Paddles that are Designed to be Re-Surfaced as they Wear. An Optional Ripper Tooth is Available for Running in Extremely Hard or Rocky Conditions. The Optional Deflector Shield Allows Soil to be Placed 4' to 8' from the Machine to Build a Diversion or Small Terrace. The Deflector Shield can Also be Used to Fill Ditches Washed Along Outer Edges of Waterways.
The Rear Shoe (Dragplate) Gives the Machine Stability, Helps Prevent Gouging, and Helps form the Ditch in Loose or Wet Conditions. A Heavy-Duty Ratchet Jack is Standard for Adjustment of the Dragplate.
The Gearbox Components are Easily Accessible by Removing the Top or Side Cover Plates. The Gearbox Consists of Large Shafts, Heavy-Duty Sprockets and Bearings, and Double 80 Roller Chain; all Enclosed and Running in an Oil Bath. The External Idler Adjustment is Used to Maintain Proper Chain Tension.
Soil is Thrown Out the Left Side of the Ditcher and May be Distributed over a 50 foot area; Rocks and Other Debris may go Farther. Depth of Cut: Up to 10" in a Single Pass and Up to 16" in Multiple Passes with Standard 15" 5 - Paddle Impeller; Up to 20" in Multiple Passes with Optional 20" 6 - Paddle Impeller. The Cutting Edge Slices Soil Loose, Reducing Shock and Vibration on the Impeller and Other Moving Parts, Maximizing Machine Life. It also Allows for Multiple Passes to Widen or Slope your Ditch. The 3-PT 20 Can be Used in any Soil Condition and is Ideal for Running in Extremely Trashy or Wet Conditions. More Paddles on the Impeller Results in Less Shock on the Ditcher and Tractor Resulting in Smoother Ditching and Increased Machine Life.

The 3-PT 26 has a 5-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) with Hard-Surfaced Paddles that are Designed to be Resurfaced as they Wear. To Protect it from Damage when Larger Objects are Hit, the 3-PT 26 has a Shear Bolt in the 26" Impeller.

The "SWINGER" is a 3-Point Hitch Mounted Machine Designed to be Used as an Offset Ditcher. It can be Operated Behind Either Tractor Tire or any Position In Between. Like all Hurricane 3-Point Models, the SWINGER is Equipped with Parking Stands for Easy Hook-Up and Disconnection. It Can be Used with Cat II or III Hitch by Moving the Bushings to the Desired Location.
An 8" Stroke Cylinder and a 50-Degree Constant Velocity (CV) Joint Allow the Ditcher's "Swinging" Action. The SWINGER has a Standard 20" 6-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) with Hard-Surfaced Paddles that are Designed to be Resurfaced as they Wear. For Smaller Applications, an Optional 15" 5-Paddle Impeller is Available.

The 3-PT 42 is our Newest and Largest 3-Point Ditcher. It is Designed to Work in Extremely Trashy Conditions such as Sod or Stalks. The Standard Ripper Tooth is Designed to Loosen Debris and/or Hard, Dry Soil for Smoother Machine Operation. The Standard Rotating Single Tail Wheel or the Optional Double Tail Wheel Helps Maintain Grade Accuracy.
The 42" 9-Paddle Impeller Wheel (Digging Wheel) Consists of 9 Heat Treated Cutting Edges and 9 Hard-Surfaced Paddles that are Designed to be Resurfaced as they Wear. It Does have Shear Bolts Should a Large Immovable Object be Struck.
The Gearbox Components are Easily Accessible by Removing the Rear or Side Access Cover Plates. The Gearboxes Consist of Large Shafts, Heavy-Duty Sprockets and Bearings, and Double 80 Roller Chain; all Enclosed and Running in an Oil Bath. The External Idler Adjustments are Used to Maintain Proper Chain Tension.
Soil is Thrown out the Left Side of the Ditcher and May be Thrown over a 60 Foot Area; Rocks and Other Debris may Go Farther. The Optional Terracing Shield Allows Soil to be Placed 7 to 30 Feet from the Machine for the Building or Maintenance of Waterways and Terraces.
Depth of Cut: up to 10" in a Single Pass; Up to 27" in Multiple Passes.

Hurricane Model 24 Ditcher-Terracer
The Model 24 is a Pull-Type Ditcher-Terracer Designed to Make Surface Drainage Ditches, to Construct and Clean Waterways, and to Build and Maintain Terraces Using your own Farm Tractor. The Model 24 has a 36" 4-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) with a 24" Cutting Edge. The Paddles are Made of T1 Steel for Longer Life, but are Easily Replaceable When Worn. The Cutting Edge is also Easily Replaceable When Worn. The Optional Terracing Shield with Extension Controls Dirt for Building and Reshaping Terraces. It Allows Soil to be Placed Within 7 Feet of the Machine or Controlled Up to 30 Feet for Broad Based Terraces. The Optional Deflector Shield Allows Soil to be Placed Within 7 to 12 Feet of the Machine.
Hydraulic Depth Control Utilizes the Rear Wheels to Maintain Grade and to Give a Smooth, Flat Bottom to the Ditch. Telescoping Axles on the Rear Wheels Allow Easier Straddling of Ditches and Increases the Machine's Stability when Using it with the Terracing Shield. The Standard Depth Gauge Enables Accurate Cuts with Each Pass. The Model 24 is Also Easily Laser Adaptable for More Precise Grade Control.
With a 100 HP tractor, the Model 24 can move up to 5 tons of dirt per minute; with a 140 HP tractor, up to 18 cubic yards of dirt per minute can be moved. This allows the operator to clean a 1,000 foot waterway, 30 feet wide by 1 foot deep every 2-1/2 hours. A 1/4 mile of terrace can be reshaped every hour with 140 HP widening the channel 15 feet and raising the terrace 15 inches.

The gearbox consists of large shafts, heavy-duty sprockets and bearings, and double 80 roller chain; all enclosed and running in an oil bath. The external idler adjustment is used to maintain proper chain tension. Soil is thrown out the left side of the ditcher and may be distributed over a 100 foot area; rocks and other debris may go farther.
Depth of Cut: Up to 10 inches in a single pass and up to 28 inches in multiple passes.

Hurricane Baby Side-Arm Ditcher
The "Baby Side-Arm" was Designed to Clean and Maintain Roadside Ditches and Other Drainage Ditches that Cannot be Safely Straddled with Other Ditching Equipment. It's 26" 5-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) is Ruggedly Designed to Operate in Ditches Containing Sod, Water, Roots and Other Debris without Damage to the Machine. It Contains a Shear Bolt to Protect the Ditcher and Tractor Should an Immovable Object be Struck.
The Counterweight can be Positioned Manually for a Narrower Transport Width. The Optional Tail Wheels (Crazy Wheels) help Support the Weight of the Machine and add Stability While Operating the Machine. The Baby Side-Arm is Cat II or III Quick Hitch Adaptable. With Optional Tail Wheel Assembly, the Top Link is Designed to Telescope Allowing the Machine to Float, Instead of Being Hooked Rigid, while Being Operated on Rough Terrain.
The 26" 5-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) Contains 5 Hard-Surfaced Paddles that are Designed to be Re-Surfaced as They Wear.
The Baby Side-Arm can be Operated at a Distance of 5 Feet to 10 Feet from the Center of the Tractor and at a Depth of Up to 5 Feet. Operating the Baby Side-Arm with a 100 HP Tractor, 1 Mile of Ditch can be Cleaned Every Hour, Removing 7 to 8 Inches of Soil from the Bottom.

The Ditch Angel is a Right-Hand Side-Arm Ditcher/Mower Designed for Cleaning and Maintaining Roadside Ditches and for Mowing Roadsides. The Ditcher Operates in Dry or Wet Conditions and Throws Soil out the Right Side of the Machine Over a 50 Foot Area; Rocks and Other Debris May go Farther. The Ditch Angel has a Standard 26" 5-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) with Hard-Surfaced Paddles Designed to be Re-Surfaced as they Wear. The Impeller contains a Shear Bolt to Protect the Ditcher and Tractor Should an Immovable Object be Struck. The Ditcher can be Operated at a Distance of 5 Feet to 11 Feet from the Center of the Tractor and at a Depth of Up to 5 Feet.
The Optional 5 Foot Brush Mower is Interchangeable with the Standard 26" Impeller. The Mower is Designed to Cut Brush Up to 2-1/2" in Diameter and can be Used to Mow Inside Banks, Outside Banks or Up in Trees. It Can Reach 14 Feet from the Center of the Machine Out to the Side and 14 Feet above the Ground Surface. The Arms (Gearboxes) contain Large Shafts, Heavy-Duty Sprockets and Bearings, Reversible Gear Drive, and Double 80 Roller Chain. Each Arm Contains Oil for Chain Lubrication and an External Idler Adjustment to Maintain Proper Chain Tension.
The Ditch Angel is Cat II or III Quick Hitch Adaptable. With the Optional Tail Wheel Assembly, the Top Link is Designed to Telescope Allowing the Machine to Float, instead of Being Hooked Rigid, while Being Operated on Rough Terrain. Hurricane Original Side Arm Ditcher
The Original Side-Arm, the Largest of our Three Side-Arm Models, was Designed to Clean and Maintain Roadside Ditches and Other Ditches that Cannot be Safely Straddled with Other Ditching Equipment. It's Unique Working Operation Allows Ditches Containing Sod, Water, Roots and Other Debris including Hard, Dry Dirt to be Cleaned without Damage to the Machine.
The 42" 9-Paddle Impeller (Digging Wheel) is Ruggedly Designed to Take the Punishment it Will Receive in Roadside Ditches. It does, however, have Two Shear Bolts if a Large Immovable Object is Struck. The Impeller Contains 9 Heat Treated Cutting Edges Along with 9 Hard-Surfaced Paddles Designed to be Resurfaced as they Wear. Soil is Thrown out the Left Side of the Ditcher and may be Distributed over a 65 Foot Area; Rocks and Other Debris may go Farther.
The Standard Counter Balance Works in Conjunction with the Extension Arm to Keep the Ditcher Balanced in all Working Positions. The Machine can be Operated at a Distance of 5 Feet to 14 Feet from the Center of the Tractor and at a Depth of 9 Feet to 3 Feet, Respectively.
The Arms (Gearboxes) Contain Large Shafts, Heavy-Duty Sprockets and Bearings, Double 80 Roller Chain (Main Arm), and Triple 80 Roller Chain (Extension Arm). Each Arm Contains Oil for Chain Lubrication and an External Idler Adjustment to Maintain Proper Chain Tension. Operating the Original Side-Arm Ditcher with a 200 HP Tractor, 1 Mile of Ditch can be Cleaned Every Hour, Removing 10 to 12 Inches of Soil from the Bottom.
Options for the Original Side-Arm: Hydraulic Deflector (Allows Hydraulic Control of the Deflector From Inside the Tractor Cab); Deflector Extension (Allows Soil to be Bermed or Piled Close to the Ditch Rather than Thrown). |
