Photos below show the stainless steel spring loaded clips. The clips hold the cover securely in place and are easily withdrawn by hand - without any loose parts to lose.

Top view with cover removed. Note the stainless steel spring retainer for lid hold down clip. Thick cover is filled with insulation & sealed on an insulated gasket. Well at the top of photo is where the float will be installed.
