The Terra-Max I does the job right the first time. Residue stays relatively untouched, leaving excellent cover to minimize wind and water soil erosion. The unique Terra-Max design provides deep tillage, loosening soil well enough to prepare a seed bed with one pass though the field. Crops perform well during hot and dry seasons because roots penetrate soil layers deeper to reach moisture and nutrients. In wet conditions, the water can pass more easily through the shattered areas, reducing the possibility of crops drowning.

The patented, narrow, helical shank design conditions soil to a depth of 20 inches, leaving the soil structure intact. The shank design reduces the chance of large clod and slab build-up. The forged spring steel shanks have replaceable angled points that help lift the soil 3 to 5 inches.

The Terra-Max I offers a single shank per row for lower horsepower requirements. Each one features heavy duty frames with high ground clearance to reduce the chance of trash build-up. The Terra-Max comes in a variety of machine WIDTHs with adjusTABLE row spacings to fit your needs. The standard equipped, heavy duty, twenty inch diameter, spring-loaded coulters provide 900 lbs. of down force pressure, cutting trash ahead of the shank. Gauge wheels are standard equipment, except for 6 ft. models.

The Terra-Max II has double shanks per row for a more complete conditioning performance. Each model features heavy duty frames with high ground clearance to reduce the chance of trash build-up. The Terra-Max comes in a variety of machine widths with adjustable row spacings to fit your needs.

Horsepower requirement for the Terra-Max II is only 20% more than the Terra-Max I. This is due to the forward shanks performing the larger part of soil shattering. The rear set of shanks, curved in the opposite direction, provide for a more complete fracture.

The advanced Terra-Max deep tillage design fractures traffic-pan to allow cotton plant roots to extend into the soil for more moisture and nutrients during hot and dry seasons. In wet weather or during irrigation, surface water can pass easily through the shattered areas, reducing the possibility of crop drowning or nitrogen lock-up.

The " Cotton Special" is available in shear-bolt or toggle-trip models with either 15" adjustable furrowing shovels or rolling disc bedders that use floating parallel linkage. Each of the units forms excellent cotton beds in the fall or reshapes the beds in the spring before planting.

Sugarcane Special

Sugarcane produces the highest amount of residue of any crop. Since it is a perennial crop, special care must be taken not to disturb its root structure while performing a tillage operation. Sugarcane residue may be buried so the nutrients can be released for the next crop.

Since there is ample residue to handle, the Sugarcane Special must agressively process the cane stalks. The forward coulter gangs slice the cane stalks to reduce the chance of trash build up. The forward disc gangs help loosen the soil surface and add more cutting action on the stalks. The Terra-Max shanks then perform their operation. The rear disc gangs are used to help cover the residue and prepare it for the rollers. As the rollers pass over the remaining residue, they complete the residue coverage by mixing the residue into the top layer of the soil.
